Through collaboration with a neuroscientist, Professor Qasim Aziz, Curious will develop biofeedback techniques for accessing the brain through the body and the body through the brain, enabling them to facilitate the telling and sharing of new kinds of stories and images, generated from the body. Like much of Curious’s work, Autobiology will focus on direct contact and communication with audiences, presenting performance work by Hill and Paris while opening the project and its themes to a diverse range of people through direct participation.
The project, currently in development, will result in:
• a live performance, working title ‘Ghost Writer’, for national touring with the opportunity for audience members to engage directly with biofeedback interfaces and share their own autobiological stories in an open session following the performance
• a short film, working title ‘Gut Feelings’, distributed nationally and internationally and shown as part of the live performance
• a series of workshops for 80 artists
