Training – video production and post production

education and training, image of leslie in the studioCombine one to one training in digital video editing and DVD with making your own demo tape, show reel, short film or projection loop. All of the one to one training sessions listed below can be tailored to the specific needs of individuals and can last anywhere from 4 hours to a week. Two full days is the recommended course for learning to take a project from logging and capturing footage to editing and exporting to tape. Our preferred method of working is for each artist to bring in their own footage and work towards the completion of a short project during the course of the training. Emerging artists, for example, may want to bring in footage of their work and create a show reel for video or DVD as their applied training project. Artists are also welcome to bring project specific footage (footage for a short film, documentation footage, footage to be edited for projection in a live performance etc.) to work on as their applied project.

From there you will learn how to edit your footage in the timeline using the various tools and techniques. Day Two: You will learn how to add transitions, titles and effects, fine tune your audio and adjust your image using colour correction filters to ensure that your footage is 'legal' in broadcast terms. Finally, you will print your project to tape.

education and training, studioDVD Studio Pro: Learning to use this software will allow you to burn DVDs of your work with interactive PhotoShop menus. If you would like to create an interactive DVD we recommend speaking to us as regards the specific nature of your project to obtain a quote that allows enough time to complete your project. Production Techniques - a half day one to one session geared to getting the best out of your own equipment for better image, sound and quicker editing. Sound is arguably the toughest and most crucial aspect of shooting to get right, so a good portion of the session is devoted to assessing the sound quality of your equipment and testing it with different sound solutions. At the end of the session we will put together a recommended shopping list based on your budget and needs. If you are planning to apply for capital funding, we can also put together budgets for high end packages and recommend suppliers. Facilities: curious own a full edit suite and can provide training on our equipment, or we can train you on your own equipment depending on your needs.
