The photo is from Angélique1734, here is the description of the event: This exhibition opens a reflexion on an almost unknown reality in the history of Montréal, the presence of African and Native slaves in the XVII and XVIII centuries. Who were they, where did they come from, what have they become?
There exists few documents about that era, but amongst one court proceedings stands out the name of one slave : Marie-Josèphe Angélique. The name given to her when she was baptized, her real name and her origins are lost today, but through her story ....next
